Contentment

On a Monday night I play football. I enjoy the craic and the games but everyone can see that I am the worst player there. I am not the sportsman that I would love to be and I have to admit that at times that has bothered me.
A few thoughts.
Firstly, I have to admit that this is a small thing to be discontent about. So many people have to deal with far greater setbacks in life than not been good at sport.
Secondly, God has surely a purpose for all our circumstances in life. I reckon that one of the reasons that he has created me as a poor sportsman is that it humbles me.
And thirdly, we need to learn to be content with who God has created us to be. Psalm 139:13 reads, For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. He has made us the way we are, and we are to thank him and trust that he knows best!
