Bible comfort

I have often read from Romans 8 at gravesides.  But it was only last night, as I lay in bed, that these words really struck home.  'Nothing can separate us from the love of God.'  So much is transient in life but God's love is secure.  We will be separated from many things and people, but we will never be separated from God.

Another text that comforted me is found originally in the book of Isaiah, and then quoted by Matthew.  'A bruised reed he will not break; a smouldering wick he will not snuff out.'  Jesus is our gentle brother, our loving Lord, and our merciful Saviour.

Last night, as I lay in bed, thinking about God I was comforted by these and other scriptures and reminded how great it is to know such an amazing God.
