Who created the creator?

I used to think that it was a logical fallacy, but apparently it is a category error.  You see, atheists seem to believe that if you can explain the mechanism of creation then you do away with the need of a creator.  But that doesn't make sense.  For example, where does the original mass come from?  Dawkins responds to this question with the schoolboy question, 'if you believe in a creator then who created the creator?'  In this video clip John Lennox replies.
