I'm still blogless!

I am struggling to write a blog! So I am going to give a little more from last week's sermon. Sorry! This was the introduction:
There was a time when the word ‘worldliness’ was associated with such things as dancing and going to the cinema. In those times some Christians doubted that you could even go and see such films as ‘The Sound of Music’, women who wore any amount of make-up were considered suspect, skirts had to reach down well beyond your knees and any consumption of alcohol was strictly forbidden.

Now the pendulum seems to have swung completely in the opposite direction. It seems that we consider any film suitable viewing no matter how violent, titillating or foul-mouthed; any joke worth telling, no matter what innuendos it contains; and any outfit worth wearing no matter how it may tempt the opposite sex.

While a previous generation may have resorted to the sin of legalism in order to combat the danger of worldliness it sometimes seems like our generation is not concerned about the danger of worldliness at all.
