    I remember one service at our place when Des Bain was effectively drowned out for about 5 minutes (or it seemed like that) by a cacophany of crinkling sweet wrappers...

    Those sweet wrapers drive me nuts! On one occasion I stopped and asked the eprson to share them. Mind you, you need to know someone well before you can get away with that.
